The Credit Union no longer facilitates wire transfers nor do we accept foreign cheques, servicing one’s account from overseas will be via one of the following options:n1. International Postal Order: this allows members to send funds via a post office from another country excluding Great Britain. We encourage our members to have their postal orders accompanied by a note to inform us of the distribution of the funds. There are different types of Postal orders, please ensure that you purchase an International Postal Order.n2. Standing Order from a Commercial Bank: Should a member have an account at a commercial bank in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, he/she may wire the funds to that financial institution. After he/she has completed the wire transfer, you may arrange for a standing order to be made between the bank and GECCU. This standing order is a monthly transfer which may last for several months based on the amount wired at any one time.

A person is required to give atleast one (1) month notice in writing before a withdrawal from the Credit Union can be granted.

To become a member you must be age 16 and above. You must also present your proof of address, Identification information and Source of Income. Proof of Address: Driver Licence, Bank Statement, Utility Bill (*Utility bill must be in the name of the applicant. If the bill is not in the name of the applicant, supporting evidence should be provided such as a rental aggreement or a letter from the resident owner which must be witnessed by a Justice of the Peace) Identification: Two Photo Identification Primary: (ID, Passport) Secondary: (Driver’s License, Farmer ID, College ID, Fisherman’s ID) Source of Income: Job Letter, Salary Slip, Benefit/Pension Letter)

When Junior Savers reaches the age of 16, they are required to complete an Adult Membership application form. They may either sit with a Member Service Representative or they may submit a notarized application form along with the required documents.

Primary Identification: National ID Card, Passport, Secondary Identification: Driver’s Licence, Framer’s ID, Green Card, Health Card, Passport Card, VISA (with photo), Customs/Port/Police ID, Work Permit (with photos).

Identification: Ages 16-17: Birth Certificate & A passport sized photo stamped and witnessed by a Justice of the Peace – Lawyer or Police (Inspector upwards), Passport, Driver’s Licence. Ages 18 & over: National ID, Passport, Driver’s Licence. Proof of Address: Utility bill, Bank Statement, Driver’s License (*Utility bill must be in the name of the applicant. If the bill is not in the name of the applicant, supporting evidence should be provided such as a rental aggreement or a letter from the resident owner which must be witnessed by a Justice of the Peace) Source of Income: Job Letter, Salary Slip from parent or the Junior Saver that is transitioning.

When the Junior Saver reaches the age of 16 years, the amount in his/her Junior Saver account will be transferred to a Shares Account.

Proof of Address: Driver’s Licence, Hire Purchase Agreement, Property Tax Statement, Bank Statement (most recent), Utility Bill (CWSA, Vinlec, internet or cable) *Utility Bill must be in the name of the applicant. If the bill is not in the name of the applicant, supporting evidence should be provided such as a rental agreement or a letter from the resident owner which must be witnessed by a Justice of Peace.
